Baked Sweet Potatoes

I did this recipe, but slightly different. It’s a great recipe because you get to learn what GAS MARK 4 means. (It means brits are weird.)

Basic Process


2 lbs bag of sweet potatoes

Some olive oil

Some rosemary


A large flat baking sheet


Preheat oven to GAS MARK 4 aka 350 degrees F.

Wash the sweet potatoes. I scrub them with a brush because at some point I learned I’m supposed to do that. The skin gets slightly lighter.


Chop em up! I try to get like 2-3 inches of size. Coat with olive oil and sprinkle rosemary over it. Separate out so they’re not touching.

Bake for 60 minutes or until they’re sort of marshmallowy.

A note on how this compares to the original cited recipe

I don’t peel my potatoes because I’m lazy and peels are nutritious or something. But mostly I’m lazy. And I don’t think I own a peeler. That’s probably a lie.


I do not know what human thinks that oregano on a sweet potato is a good idea but *that is so dumb*. Rosemary is so much better for the sweetness.

I don’t use salt or black pepper either. Maybe I use salt sometimes, but I like sweet potatoes for the sweetness that they get which is probably why they are called sweet potatoes.
